I am not one for those social media fads like dry January and such. Maybe that's because I love gin too much. But I normally just have an awareness for these things. However, I think we all were impacted by Blue Planet and the messages that David Attenborough put out to viewers. For too long [...]
An Update
Hey Guys! It been a long long time. Well I say a long time, I really means it's been a month. A lot has happened this month hence why I have been away but I thought I would put a little update up, explaining what I have been up to and what's been happening. In [...]
Books: The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Moss and Other Similar Book Recommendations
I ordered the Tattooist of Auschwitz, as it was in my 'recommended' and 'new releases' on Audible. I don't really know where to begin with this book. As you can tell from the title the subject matter is very obvious. Reading a book based on this period of time is never going to be a light-hearted read. But I knew that and this was truly an amazing book to read. I read it in a day, during my final university exams. So if that isn't a testament to how much I loved it I don't know what is.
Heath and WellBeing: The Issue of Period Poverty
Happy Menstrual Hygiene Day! Yes, it is a thing and be proud that it is. I actually hate how I talked myself out of writing this post a few times over the last few months. I sat at my computer and genuinely thought about whether this was something I should be writing about, whether it [...]
Alice’s Travels and Adventures: A Mini Greek Travel Guide
I am in the midst of holiday planning. Yes I know I am about to sit my exams for my final year of University and have a billion and one other things to do. But I really cannot help it. Holidays are just too tempting. I know its totally a first world problem. When it [...]
Beauty: Lush Mother’s Day 2018
Mother's Day is always a meh time for me. So any excuse to talk about Lush and cheer myself up I will grab with both hands gladly. So I recently had a little mooch in LUSH and for once I picked up some of the new/themed products for Mother's Day. I am a sucker for [...]
Books: World Book Day 2018 and My Favourite Childhood Books
Happy World Book Day. Well... belated World Book Day! I know it was two days ago, but if anyone knows me they will know that I have a habit of being a tad late. I will be the first to admit that despite not being a teacher or a pupil I really love World Book [...]
Books: A Handmaid’s Tale By Margaret Atwood
I have decided as due to the fact that I read so much, that I want to start to want of a better word, a monthly series on the best book I read that month. So I am going to kick things off with quite frankly, one of the best books I have ever read... [...]
Lifestyle: How I Get Better Sleep
I don't really remember when my problem with insomnia started. Sleep and I have always had a very interesting relationship, in that we have no relationship whatsoever at times. All I do remember is that I definitely realised how much of an issue sleeping was for me around the time that my mother became seriously [...]
Opinion: My Disability – It Is OK To Not Understand My Disability. It Is OK To Ask. But It Is Not OK To Assume and Be Stupid
But the thing is, that is OK. I do not expect anyone to know how my visual impairment affects me. But it is when you don’t ask, assume things or just ignore it, when issues in what you do and say start to seriously piss me off.
